💰 How To Monetize Your UGC Content

Ready to turn your passion for art into big bucks, and maybe even leave your influencer stress behind for good and your 9-5 grind?

If you’ve been on social media at all lately, you know UGC is basically all everyone is talking about, minus Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce, and Beyonce’s newest song (it’s fire.com btw).

Let's dive into selling your short Instagram Reels and TikTok videos to brands for $200+—no need for a posting schedule or worrying about engagement.

Welcome to the UGC world, where creativity alone equals cash. 💸

1) Understanding UGC 🤔

First up, UGC means User-Generated content.

It's all the stuff—videos, pics, reviews—made by folks like you, not companies or influencers promoting to their audience.

Brands ❤️ UGC because it's real and relatable, making it marketing gold that they can use in their organic and paid advertising campaigns.

Your mission?

Create tutorials and testimonial videos that brands can't resist.

2) Creating Your UGC Account 📱

Step 1: Profile Perfection

Pick a platform (Instagram, TikTok, or both) and set up a pro-looking profile dedicated to a specific niche of UGC.

Make your bio shout "UGC creator" with a splash of your unique vibe.

Do a quick IG search for “Tech UGC”, or “Apps UGC” and see what accounts come up.

Take a look at their bios.

After looking through 10–20 accounts, what information do you consistently see displayed in their bios?

Draw inspiration.

Step 2: Content is King

Start dropping your best content. Showcase your UGC content.

Keep it 100% you and quality high. Brands want real people their customers can vibe with.

Use products you have at home to start with brands you know already use UGC in your profession.

And post your preexisting art-related content and tag those brands.

A quick IG or TikTok search for their profile, and you’ll be able to tell.

Step 3: Community is Still Important

Only follow and engage with other UGC accounts related to your niche and niche-specific brands.

You want to train the algorithm to understand what kind of account you are.

Chatting with accounts in your niche builds a community around your work and will help you land deals.

3) Attracting Brands 🔍

Step 1: Portfolio Power

Collect your top content in a portfolio. Use custom templates to highlight your journey, from newbie to pro collabs.

Show off your creative chops and ability to make engaging content.

Step 2: Pitch It

Reach out to brands with tailored pitches that showcase how your UGC can boost their goals.

Let your portfolio do the talking.

UGC is great because you don’t have to have brand experience; you can fill your portfolio with sample content.

Step 3: Platforms & Networks

Hop on UGC platforms and networks that hook up creators with brands.

These spots are treasure troves for snagging paid gigs and networking.

I’ve also heard Twitter is a secret gem for UGC deals.

3) Monetizing Your Content 💵

Caught a brand's eye?

Time to talk money. Aim for $200 - $250 per video to start and package deals always, showing why you're worth every penny.

Accept nothing less.

As you rack up experience and a killer portfolio, bump up those rates.
